Dangerous Danish ports: the Cruise ships pollute as thousands of cars

When a cruise ship docks in a Danish port, the discharging ship the same amount of air pollution every second as several thousand cars running in the city streets.

It is the conclusion of a new report, Danish researchers have published. It writes dr.dk.

the Report shows that emissions of NOx particles every second from a cruise ship, calling at a Danish port, equivalent to the emissions from about 3,500 cars running in urban traffic.

463 cruise lines put according to dr.dk in Danish ports in 2017. 70 percent of them docked in Copenhagen, 8 percent in philadelphia, 6 percent in Copenhagen, while the rest put in other Danish ports.

NOx-particles leads to reduced lung function and may increase the risk of infections in the lungs.
