16-year-old convicted for rape and murder of six-year girl

2. July last year, the whole of the Uk shocked when they found the naked corpse of the only six-year-old Alesha MacPhail in a wooded area on the scottish island of the Isle of Bute.

It turned out quickly that the little Alesha had been both murdered and raped. A 16-year old teenager from the island was subsequently arrested and charged with the bestial act.

yesterday was the 16-year-old after a nine-day-long trial, found guilty of kidnapping, rape and murder of Alesha MacPhail.

Alesha had a total of 117 injuries on the body, and her cause of death was attributed to suffocation by the intense pressure on both the face and the neck. It was, moreover, also used a knife in connection with the mistreatment of the six-year-old girl.

Judge Lord Matthews from the court in Glasgow told the 16-year-old murderer, that he had stolen Aleshas life by committing one of the most vicious and disgusting crimes that have been submitted in the court in Glasgow for several decades.

Lord Matthews explained that he still had no idea why the 16-year-old had committed such a depraved crime, but that the evidence in the case has been quite overwhelming.

During the trial it emerged that the 16-year-old boy kidnapped the little Alesha from the bed where she lay sleeping, before he committed his terrible crime. It took in addition, only a unanimous jury three hours to sentence him guilty.

In a statement published by the police in Scotland, the family has stated the following:

'We can't believe that we are never going to see our little angel Alesha again. We miss her so terribly much. We hope that the boy that took her from us, will get a very long jail sentence because of what he has done to our family. Alesha has disappeared from our lives, but she will always be in our hearts.'

The 16-year-old offender can get life imprisonment - judgment falls 21. march.

Aleshas mother, Georgina Lochrane, have also stated the following to the press:

'I am pleased that the perpetrator has finally been convicted, and that he is now no longer able to inflict the pain on another family, as he has inflicted on us. Alesha. I love you so much. I will miss you forever.'

the Offender has, in fact, during the trial declared himself innocent.

But the forensic experts found his dna anywhere on her body and on her clothing.
